Social and emotional capability is crucial to school success.  Without social and emotional skills children cannot learn as effectively and cannot make the most of their learning.

For early childhood educators, Little Highway Heroes supports social and emotional skills that are at the heart of the Early Years Learning Framework: Being, Belonging and Becoming.  More details below.

For primary educators, Highway Heroes supports the development of General Capabilities in the Australian Curriculum.  More details below.

Early Years

Australian Curriculum

Personal and Social Capability has been identified in learning area content descriptions and elaborations. Students develop personal and social capability as they learn to understand themselves and others, and manage their relationships, lives, work and learning more effectively. Personal and social capability involves students in a range of practices including recognising and regulating emotions, developing empathy for others and understanding relationships, establishing and building positive relationships, making responsible decisions, working effectively in teams, handling challenging situations constructively and developing leadership skills.
